Cognitive Computing is a growing field where computing machinery and programing are able to process large quantities of data, recognize trends and connections in that data, and suggest or implement actions based on the analysis. Combining cognitive computing principles with Futrfab’s unique fabrication environment creates a new paradigm for manufacturing we call Cognitive Fabrication.

There are numerous ways that cognitive computing is synergistically related to the Futrfab environment. However, at a base level, the operations of small tool Futrfabs combine large numbers of processing tools. Large volume fabricators may combine a hundred thousand tools or more in a facility. To succeed, sophisticated cognitive analysis based control systems are required.
